Parma for a farmer – Updated

Good news story to lighten the mood.
I just wanted to share with you a recent fundraising event held by the Ballarat Football & Netball Club and the Ballarat Memorial Bowls club.

The two clubs are co tenants of The Alfredton Sports & Community Club. Several of our Elders staff members hold positions on club committees. We put our heads together and decided to run a Parma For A Farmer night at the club. On the 17th of August it all came together after only 6 days of organisation. We served 170 Parma’s on the night and through raffles, live auctions, donations from individuals and bar takings we raised $2100.00.
Post the night we spoke with Ben Finch our Branch Manager at Broken Hill and asked him to nominate 4 families we could support with food vouchers. Once we had the names we purchased the vouchers from the local IGA in Broken Hill.
Club stalwarts Greg & Kerry Hobbs took the opportunity to take their Caravan to Broken Hill and hand deliver the vouchers to the families yesterday.
Greg & Kerry were chauffeured by Ben as they headed West from the township to area’s which have been heavily impacted by drought and vermin ( Especially Kangaroos). In speaking with Greg, he said that they had a wonderful day with Ben and the families were just so appreciative of the gesture.
Everyone involved from Elders and the ASCC should be very proud.

Congratulations to all involved in last Friday nights Parma for a Farmer. Funds raised outlined below!
