A big congratulations to Andrew Hooper who this week plays his 100th VFL game representing Werribee FC against Footscray FC on Sunday. After being Rookie Drafted in 2009 by the Western Bulldogs following an impressive year with the North Ballarat Rebels, Hoops went on to play 7 senior AFL games with his most notable one his first, when he kicked a goal late to spark a comeback in a final against Sydney.
While on the AFL list he played numerous games with affiliate club Williamstown before returning to North Ballarat where he played up until the folding of the club in 2017.
This year he signed with Ballarat FNC as his home club and has been in attendance to watch our games when not playing VFL for Werribee. Andrews nephew Emerton also plays with one of our Ballarat Storm Junior teams. His commitment to travel to Melbourne 3 times a week shows what dedication he has to get the best out of himself. Good luck this weekend Hoops and we looking forward to seeing you around the club and hopefully wearing the Red & White colours soon.
