Ballarat outplayed by East Point
Ballarat’s 2018 season did not get away to the start we hoped for tonight after been soundly beaten by East Point under lights at Active Electrical Oval. In front of a big crowd, Ballarat were never in the game with East Point jumping out of the blocks kicking 8 goals to none in the first quarter.
The game was stopped for 30 minutes in the first quarter after Jackson Ford was knocked out in a tackle. Club trainers cared for Jackson on the ground whilst an ambulance made it’s way. All supporters and players from both clubs hope that Jackson continues to recover ok.
Thanks to Ballarats Head Trainer Dave Garner, and the trainers from East Point for acting so professionally in the situation.
Ballarat 2nd half was much improved, kicking it’s first goal 7 minutes into the 3rd quarter and outscoring East Point in the last quarter.
Kennedy was strong across the game, and other good contributors included Hutchinson, James, Martin, & Mellington. Luke Wynd also put in a solid performance after been presented with the Number 8 Guernsey on Thursday night.
