URGENT FACILITY UPGRADES NEEDED
A message from the Acting President, Craig Lightfoot
Dear Ballarat FNC Families’, Members and Participants,
Your board has been working on a proposal to get our buildings and some other items upgraded to meet current and future needs. The attached document has been sent to council, state and federal government representatives and has been well received, but as yet we do not have an election commitment.
The ASCC aims to develop a community sporting hub that encourages a sense of belonging, an integral social hub for the Ballarat West Growth Area.
There are a couple of ways you can help:
- Contact your local candidate for the state election and let them know how important this funding is. Some key points is that we don’t have any female friendly change facilities, our netballers change in the toilets, we have had huge growth among all levels at the club and are struggling with building infrastructure to cope. Much better though is your own story or experience. The contacts for state election candidates are:
- Labor. Juliana Addison at juliana.addison@vic.alp.org.au, or Michaela Settle Michaela.Settle@vic.alp.org.au – or via their facebook / twitter accounts
- Liberal, Amy Johnson amy.johnson@vic.liberal.org.au or Andrew Kilmartin andrew.kilmartin@vic.liberal.org.au – or via facebook / twitter
- Indicate back to us if you would be willing to endorse whichever party commits to funding the redevelopment. This might be as simple as promoting via social media the backing of the project to being willing to hand out how to vote cards with your Ballarat FNC jersey or top on at a polling booth on election day.
We think this is an important project for our local community and would really appreciate your support.
Craig Lightfoot
