2020 Junior Coaches Announced

The Ballarat Football Netball Club have announced their junior coaches for season 2020.

In what is the club’s 160th anniversary year, 37 junior teams will compete including 16 boys football teams, 5  girls football teams, and 16 netball teams. This will provide the opportunity for another 60 children to play football or netball, above last seasons number.

Club Junior Director, Craig Wilding, said in announcing the coaches that there has been much work over the summer recruiting the people and volunteers to be able to manage this growth.

Around 670 junior players will represent Ballarat this season playing out of Alfredton. It is particularly exciting to see the growth in female participation. We are fielding another under 15 girls football team as well as a full complement of netball teams in every age group for both Storm and Swans squads,” said Wilding.

The club is also implementing a more structured junior coaching program with coaching coordinator appointments across every squad with the role of overseeing a uniform approach to coaching and coaching development.

We are developing a framework for our coaches to work within, which will hopefully provide an environment where not only our players improve, but our coaches can also. We’re all feeling really positive for an enjoyable season for players, parents and volunteers alike.
